Hi, I’m Kirsten. I found my calling really early in life. I’ve had a camera in my hand since I was like 12. I would be babysitting and instead of watching TV when the kids went to sleep, I would be studying photography books. Around 15, I quickly realized I could make more money doing a family photo shoot than working at the local pizza joint. So, I’ve been a professional photographer for 20 years now.
Approach
I just love people and their stories, and that’s originally what pulled me in. My photos capture people in their honest moments: the raw realness of motherhood (I know it well) or the true person behind the brand.
As my career has evolved, now I absolutely love shooting hospitality and architecture because a photograph can make a room feel lived in. I look for light. I find something interesting, then I bring your space to life.
The first question I’ll always ask — “What are your needs?” Then, I’ll tailor the experience from there. My work is deeply personable and built on trust. I’ve always said that photography is collaborative. It’s not me, it’s us.
